CPL, SCRL is a cooperative society, endowed with legal personality, administrative and patrimonial autonomy.
CPL's statutes were published in BR Nº31, Series III, of July 30, 2003.
It started its activities on 30 September 2005 with 80 members and 414,700.00 MT of own funds, facilitating access to credit for farmers, breeders, small and medium-sized traders, as well as companies.
It operated in rented premises of the District Service for Economic activities until July 2008, when it moved to its current headquarters.
Today CPL aspires to create a Micro Bank as part of its expansion in the market, improving service efficiency and making the decision-making process more flexible. It currently has more than 1900 members including individuals, Peasant Associations, Fishermen's Associations, NGOs and companies.
CPL currently has beneficiaries from Chókwe, Guijá, Manjacaze, Xai-Xai, Chibuto, Moamba, Magude and Massingir. It will soon expand its services by opening delegations in the districts of Gondola (Manica), Xai-xai and Chibuto (both in Gaza).
